Skin type relationship to KP test

Ok im making this poll to find out if the demodex mite is the cause of KP.
Demodex feeds on sebum, wich is produced in hair follicles, so i'm doing this poll to figure if your skin type and affected areas are caused by the demodex mite or if its unrelated =)
poll questions
#1:
do you have oily skin?

#2
do you have oily or dry hair?

#3:
do you have an itchy scalp?

#4:
where is your KP located?

my theory is that, people with oily skin will have KP on their body, demodex mites reproduce and thrive in dark conditions
so the primary areas they will be is the thighs and upper arms (because T shirts and shorts keep those areas in the dark all the time)
demodex feeds on the hair follicles of people with oily skin
(not all people with oily skin will have KP because demodex can only thrive in people with a weakened immune system, which could be caused by a variety of things, including a candida infection)

on the people with skin that isnt oily, im going to assume they only have it on their face
because face skin is very likely to produce the sebum required for the demodex to feed no matter what skin type you have

for the people with oily skin and hair i suspect their scalps will also have some sort of irritation because the demodex infestation will be on their scalps as well
so lemme see what you guys have to say, to check if im right or WAY WAY off, thanks for your time =)

Re: Skin type relationship to KP test

yeah, well i got oily hair
kinda cant tell if my skin is oily i just assume it is because my hair is
like, if i dont shower for a while i start to feel dirty because of body oil

im talking like if i dont shower for a week
but its not bad or anything, anyways the demodex mite treatment has cured a lot of people of KP after like 4 or sometimes more months
so i thought "hey since demodex feeds on sebum which is produced in the hair follicle it must mean people with KP have more sebum in their hair follicles!"

BUTTT you say you have dry skin, so maybe the normal sebum production in the hair follicle for even people with dry skin is enough to allow those stupid little mites to thrive and cause KP

so do you just have the bumps or do you have the redness too?

anyways a weak immune system due to whaetver allows them to thrive on the skin, otherwise your body would kill them pretty good

Re: Skin type relationship to KP test

By dry, i mean extremly dry. I have bumps and redness (everything you look for and everywhere ). I actually thought that my very very dry skin causes KP, and I always wondered what if it was oily? Now i have the answer thanks to you.

I actually don't believe in "demotex mites" theory. I think it is most probably related to our immune system.

Re: Skin type relationship to KP test

boosting immune system allows the body to fight the demodex mite.
Anyways
i ordered like 800 dollars worth of demodex killing stuff for my scalp and body
so if i get cured ill defiantly be telling everyone

anyways, demodex thrives in darkness, i always wondered "why the hell is KP generally on thighs and upper arms on people" and those areas are always covered up by shorts and T shirts, so their in darkness a lot... so that kinda makes sense
and demodex attacks the hair follicle, and thats where our skin is irritated, demodex mites make waste in the follicle and die in the hair follicle, the decomposition of their waste and dead bodies would cause irritation
anyways, thanks for the info

#1:
do you have oily skin?
I have combination skin: dry areas- usually the more exposed, but also oily face, chest, back.

Oh! btw I have had eczema when I was a kid/teen (I'm now 30), I've got chronic psoriasis (small patches but not severe) on my lower legs. Asian/oriental, so naturally produce more oil than caucasian ppl, lightly tanned skin (but sometimes it depends on the time of year, I can look like a vampire in winter!).

#2
do you have oily or dry hair?
I would say more oily.

#3:
do you have an itchy scalp?
No, but I have small patches of (undiagnosed psoriasis?) dry skin.

#4:
where is your KP located?
Back of arms (as usual but not severe), front top of thighs, bottom legs (the worst).

My KP is probably the Alba type. Not itchy atall.
Very light and occasional redness and bumpiness on the back of arms. Thighs are more bumpy and have red/brown spots. Bottom legs are the biggest area with KP but are smooth with light brown spots.

My bottom legs are quite strange...they aren't totally covered in KP and it seems to be in specific places (there are totally clear areas). I might post some photos of them (once I've waxed!).
