Ive had kp since I was a kid but just didnt know what it was until recently..I have it on my legs, arms, butt, and a little on my stomach and forehead. I'm black (dark-skinned). I have a severe case of kp that started when I was 15 and I'm now 38. I don't think that this disorder is more prevalent in one group than another. It seems pretty universal. I would, however, be interested in finding out if it's more severe in certain skin types...

Pale ivory skin, increasing freckles, brown hair that lightens easily, dark green eyes, and kp everywhere with redness. Some people don't have redness, but I do all day, except for when I just wake up. Then it's a very light pink.

I am irish/native american. Light eyes light hair, but tan quickly. I wouldn't consider myself fair complected, but I think that KP occurs most often in those who are fair complected (celtic/or other irish backgrounds). My KP is terrible on my arms...have a little on my legs but hardly noticable.

I have pale skin, blue eyes and brown hair but surprisingly I tan relatively quickly.
I go to tanning salon 5 times before I start going to the beach to prevent sunburns and than buy SPF 20 cream and that is enough.

I've got dark hair, blue-green eyes and very fair skin, and I tan hardly at all... damn those Scottish genes. :P I hate being pale, I have KP on my arms and it shows up really red and angry.

I have fairly pale skin with dirty blond hair! I have hazel eyes, and I tan pretty easily! I get sunburned not too bad, about like normal people, but in about 2 days my sunburn is completly gone and I'm tan! But in about a week i'm back to my original color, and the tan has faded away! It's really hard for my skin to stay tan!!! So I've just given up on that bronze look, and I'm just my natural skin color! I have kp on my upper arms and some of my lower arms, and some on my thighs! But my kp is a mild condition! Does any one know why I can't hold a tan? My dad is native american and my mom is irish/german!!!

Re: Which Skin Type Are You?

I must be the classic KP sufferer! celtic background-scottish/northern irish, dark hair, pale skin, grey eyes, tans lightly. KP on face, arms from wrists to shoulders, legs from ankles to hip, shoulders, back and bottom. Lucky me!
