Well my kp got bad 6 mos. after the birth of my Daughter and I was 28 yrs. old. I always had it but never knew what it was until my friend was diagnosed w/ it and she had it all over her entire body. I only had a few bumps on the backs of my arms and tiny bit above my knees, it was no big deal to me. Then 6 mos. after I had her it was all over my legs and It was bad for about a year until I started w/ Sulfer Soap. I'm 30 now and the bumps are gone and my legs look normal again but I still scrub w/ S. Soap because I know it will come back. At least when I become pregnant again I will know how to handle it. Kim

From the age of 8 to 18 its been aweful, just recently in the last 4 - 5 months its become 60 - 70% better, but i beleive its not to do with age, but a lifestyle change.

I just turned 33 last week and my KP hasn't improved because of age at all. I've had it since birth and it's been exactly the same my whole life. The only thing that improved it was scrubbing with sulphur soap. I would bet any amount of money in the world that i will be 63 and it still won't have improved simply because of age. SUCKS BIGTIME!

age

I am 19 now and have had KP since I was 13.It has certainly not faded due to natural causes. It is much better than it was years ago, but no where near gone.

Unhappy I just got KP and am almost 30

I never really had a problem with KP, I might have had a slight case but really never even noticed it. Now my entire life is consumed with this mess of bumps on my arms and the back of my legs. I hate it!!! I have tried everything and I am a huge picker so it just looks hideous. I do not know what the heck causes it but age definately means nothing in my case. I started noticing the bumps after I had my son so maybe it is a hormonal thing.

My brother has it too and he is only 18 so I think hormones have a large role in this problem as well as genetics.

I'm 31, and have had KP as long as I can remember. My KP has actually gotten WORSE with age. As a child there wasn't much redness, but there certainly is now, and it sucks. I've tried different makeup and things to cover it, but so far, no luck

I am 50 and age has not improved it. It is my life experience and what I do for my skin now. It is virtually gone only because I am consistent with the treatment, spend the money and have the patience to go through the small patches that come from time to time with stress, tight clothing, irritation etc.

I have let the treatments go when ill with the flu or high stress times. It comes back as full force as it was when I was younger. I have had it since before puberty. I remember it when I was 5 and 6 with people making comments on the backs of my arms.

Unhappy

I've probably always had KP but never even realized I had it until I was in my early 20's. I don't think it really started getting very bad until my first child was born when I was 28. I've already noticed it on my son's arms and he's only 6. It isn't very noticable because it's not red at all but I imagine that's how mine was when I was a kid.

I've got something to say about age, too. I have KP on my arms and my mom has kp on her arms and legs. She never noticed her KP until I told her, but it never bothered her. Sometimes I blamed her for blessing me with the hideous thing (I really shouldn't have...) I have been keeping track on her arms and legs for years. She always had a lot of bumps on her arms and legs, but she never picked, so she has no scars. She wore sleeveless all the time. I have noticed that her bumps shrank gradually over the past 15 years, and they were totally gone two years ago when she turned 56. Now she is 58, I can't help looking at her skin with envy. The skin of her arms is like the one of a 25 year-old, radiant and flawless.

Hers is gone, but mine is still here. And I just don't want to wait that long. I picked my bumps everyday, which left lots of scars......

By the way, I ordered a glycolic peel kit from platinumskincare, and I can't wait to get it.

I first developed it at around 15 and from 15 to about 18 it was really bad. However the bumps have gotten much better after puberty so i'm guessing that hormones do indeed play a very big role in this condition.

I got KP really bad after my son turned six months old. I think the pregnancy may have triggered it. I never had it before then.
