KP and age

My KP on my arms, face and neck started to decline in mid twentys and in my forties it is totally gone. I still have scarring however from Ulerythema Ophryogenes and Atrophoderma Vermiculata. Mine was really bad on my arms and face - I didn't worry about it much at the time as my eyebrows were falling out with the UO and my cheeks were red and inflamed from the AV.

I like the fact that they think #32 is true, but it's soooo not. Plus, the garage is mine!
Also, I added us to the stoplist for the Jinna23 thing. "Please allow 24 hrs to process your request and then you will not see us anymore" is what I was told. We'll see...

I am 26 and my KP has not really improved with age. But I have hopes since both my mother and grandmother used to have KP like me but it faded from when they were 30 to 40. I dont remember my grandmother having KP since it went away before I was born - but I remember how my mum used to pick in her arms. Now she only gets a bumb or two a month on her arm and she doesnt have any on her legs.
So I keep my fingers crossed

I have had KP since I was a baby, I'm 18 now and have just recently started seeing some improvement. Hopefully as I get older my KP will clear up totally!

Probably before 20

I had it as a kid and a few years after puberty is cleared up. Have anything to do with stopping sports? Age? Hormones? I have no idea. I'd have to say late teens to early 20's it stop.

I had my son when I was 26 and I don't recall a flare up from it, but my son started with KP when he was 1.5 y/o and I'm searching for a treatment, other than less baths.

My KP is worse than ever and I'm 26. I have an 8 month old and since I got pregnant with him it's been terrible. I also ordered a Glycolic peel kit and I hated it. I used it for a week and had to stop because it was so painful. I had big burns all over my arms and it hurt too badly to scrub once they got big. I'm not sure if I'll try using it again. Has anyone else found that stuff to be helpful? It seems like my KP is worse now because I didn't follow through with it for very long.

I'm 19 now and I've had KP since I was about 4 or 5. It hasn't gotten any better as I've gotten older, with the exception of the NeoStrata Lotion I recently discovered. It's been helping quite a bit, thankfully.

I'm 27 and during the past few years my KP has dramatically gotten worse. For most of my life it was contained to my upper arms. Just in the last 3-4 years it has spread to my forearms, all down my legs, down my sides, and has been moving up on to my shoulders. Due to my heavy work schedule I have not been able to go to a doctor and didn't even know what it was until I found this site yesterday.

I just was diagnosed with KP at 44...started getting red marks on my skin in May, mainly my legs and back of my arms, and it's been a struggle ever since. As with many other posters on this site I'm trying what treatment is out there, and so far the help has been minimal. Irritation is my biggest problem, but, I can also relate to others that have a problem with appearance. Best of luck to all.

I've had a pretty bad case of it my whole life; I'm 18 now and there's no significant change.

Thumbs down no improvement here!

I'm 28 years old and have seen no improvement at all. In fact, my skin is worse now than it was 20 years ago. I have it all over my arms, legs, butt, belly, sides of my torso and on my saddle bags/ lower back. The redness is worst on my legs, butt and arms. I just wish I knew what the cause for it is. Maybe allergies, extra-sensitive skin, hormones. All I know is, it's hereditary and I've passed the bad gene onto both of my kids. They will now be plagued with the dreaded skin condition, thanks to mommy!

I'm 20 now and have had KP on my arms as long as I remember. Certainly throughout my teen years. So, thinking it was associated with acne, I assumed it would not so much improve as...go away. Well it hasn't even really improved. There's a random "clear" spot on my left arm now, but the rest is still so bad that I doubt it has as much to do with age as other factors.

Hi, i'm young but my kp has improved a little. About 6 months ago it used to be all over my lower arms but now they are slowly diminishing! My mom is ordering a special lotion to help it and i hop it works, it's getting worse on my arms but frequently putting lotion on it and scrubbing a tough rag or sponge and then putting lotion on it will help.

I really don't understand KP much. I've just joined this site. I've had KP on my arms all my life and it was worse when I was a small child. (I can remember my mom trying to squeeze each bump on the back of my thighs and screaming.) But now, at 43, and 3 kids later...it seems I don't have much KP on the back of my arms like before (some bumps, but not as raised) as in my 20's. Now, my little girl (age 3) has KP on the back of her arms. I don't do anything, except use mild soap. I've just noticed over the last 10 years it's starting to go away and sometimes I even forget I have it. I stopped scrubbing the hell out of my skin years ago and now, I just take showers and stop picking. I think by NOT focusing on KP, it seems to have lessened over the years. I think it's my age, but I'm not sure. Can anyone else relate? Thanks.
Lisa
