Talking Coconut Oil made it go away!

My DD is 4 years old and was recently diagnosed with KP. She had a really bad reaction to Eucerin Repair lotion. I used coconut oil one her and it has practically gone away. I bought Spectrum Naturals Organic Coconut Oil. I found it in the cooking oil section of my local grocery store. It is solid, but it goes on super easy, it not greasy and has no sent. Praise God!

I'm so happy for you! I am also a user of coconut oil and it has helped me LOADS. Good luck in the future with it!

Yes. I just take it out of the jar and rub it in my hands a little and then rub it on her. I even sing a little funny song for her " You put the lime in the coconut and you stir it all up". The coconut oil has been working great. Her skin has been really dry because of the really cold weather so I went to Earth Fare and picked up Mommie Dots ReNewed Bebe Vegan Butter Balm. The lady that worked in their skin care department has KP and she uses coconut oil and the Mommie Dots herself. It has soywax, cocoa butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, rice bran oil, soy butter, chamomile butter, lavender butter, and vitamin E. It is free of fragrance, color, parabens and minerals oils. You can get it here Augisa & Co. Organics - Mommie Dots. I have been using this as well. You can use it alone or put the coconut oil on and then the Mommie Dots. It all depends how much your child's skin absorbs the coconut oil. I really like it myself too. I HIGHLY reccomend it. My daughter's skin is very sensitive and this has made her skin SUPER SOFT. I hope this helps. After our experience with her reactions to some recommended lotions I decided it was better to go the all natural route and it's been really working for her.

I think I'll try the coconut oil, on my 3yo. Thanks for the post!
Do you use it daily? I couldn't tell by your last post, sorry , but do you use two products on it, or just the coconut oil?
    Thanks!

I use the coconut oil daily after bath. I use the Mommie Dots when her skin is especially dry. I use it anytime of the day and sometimes after the coconut oil absorbs in. These two products really work!

I am going to try this with my daughter, I just wanted to ask if when a product works do any of you see or experience the red dots where the bumps were? (If you are not familar with these, I ask because as a teen my bumps were replaced with the red dotting on my legs)

Re: Coconut Oil made it go away!

It took a couple of weeks because of the bad reaction that she had from the lotion we tried. I have read a lot of people using shea butter.
After the reaction my daughter had to the lotion I am only trying all natural oils/lotions. I have also used a brown sugar scrub and epsom salts as an exfoliator a few times during bath. It seemed to be really mild on her skin.

Re: Coconut Oil made it go away!

I'm using coconut oil as moisturizer for 3 days, 2x a day. My kp is severe. It's kinda messy to apply after bath.

Just want to ask if you also use lotion after the coconut oil absorbs by the skin?
