Misdiagnosis over and over 3 year old

I am new to this forum. My daughter had these bumps on her face from birth. When she as a newborn it was an infant rash. When she was 1 the dr's actually never really answered my questions. On her 2 yr visit she was diagnosed with dermatitis because at this point it spread to her arms and legs. It never itched her though. After going back and forth with dr's I finally got a referral to a dermatologist yesterday and he said she had asteatotic dermatitis, I googled it and he was wrong. I could tell the appt wasn't going to go well when he rushed inot the room sat down and barely looked at her. The dr's keep handing me these darn steroid creams. That got rid of the redness on her face, but the bumps are still there. I was doing research and I believe she has keratotis pilaris and from the pictures I have seen online I have it too. I never really thought about it. I did accidently get rid of mine, I did a candida cleanse because I was feeling run down and then I noticed the backs of my arms and the bumps were gone. Of course I can't use that on my daughter. I look forward to reading your treatments. She has her 3 year check up Tues, we'll see how it goes. Also since keratosis is so common why are dr's always misdiagnosing it?

Candee,

Welcome to the KP Forum. If you had candida, it is possible your daughter does as well. While you don't want to give her any candida pills, you can help her by limiting sugars -- lactose, fruit, juice, and also refined carbohydrates.

As to your last question, maybe because they don't want to admit that there is no cure, therefore, they can't write a prescription?

OMG I can so relate. I am new to the site and thank god for finding it one late night surfing. My son is 6 years old. His arms and legs are covered in these bums and all my doctor says is just keep using the cream grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Will make another appointment this week and tell him about your site see where that gets me.

I am currenlt trying grapefruit seed extract. I've been using it for 3 days now. I see a slight improvement, but it is still early. I put 2 drops in her juice once a day. I also give her acidophilus with biffidus (the stuff in yogurt). I am trying to avoid all those creams.
