New to boards...but not KP
I just found this site recently and LOVE that there is a place that everyone can share what's worked for them. I am one of those who firmly believe there is a possible genetic link to this. My mom & her sister have it as well as my sister and myself. I've had it all my life and at 30 I don't see it going anywhere.I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Both have KP but neither showed signs until about they were about 18 months old. My youngest has a worse case than my oldest. My youngest has it on the back of both upper arms and his calves and it feels like sandpaper. My oldest only has it on his upper arms and it just feels like smooth little bumps. I did notice while we were on vacation at the beach that all three of us improved (maybe the salt/sun/chlorine, some or all of the above ) My question is this.......do you think that using some of the bath salts that are out ther would help at all? Like, for instance, when they take their baths I usually let them play for a little while before we wash and that would allow time to soak. I just got some coconut oil that I'm going to try on myself before trying it on them. I also use the KP Duty scrub and that helps me a lot but I know I can't use it on them yet until they get older. I'm just trying to find out some other options to try. Thanks for reading! |

Do you use a moisturizing lotion everyday after the shower? That works for some of us too. |

Re: New to boards...but not KP
I do use lotion....A LOT
Although I am still trying to find the best one for me. I did use the EVCO for the first time this morning after my shower as well as the Tahiti Sweetie lotion from Bath & Body Works and it looks VERY promising for both. I think I'm going to give it a couple more tries before using the EVCO on the boys though, just to make sure. It's hard enough getting the 2 year old to sit still long enough to do regular lotion much less having to "melt" the EVCO in my hands everytime I go for some more. ![]() ![]() |
