Avon Vanilla Cream Bath Oil

Re: Favorite Bath Oils for Kids?
The thing that I have used on my daughter for about 3 years now is by Avon. It's the vanilla cream for dry skin bubble bath they have. This is what has actually reduced her KP greatly on her thighs and arms. Don't know if it will work for you, but it did for us. Since I found this sight I've actually been looking for something for her face, which has gotten somewhat worse since puberty is starting. Too early to tell for sure, but I believe the Neutrogena face wash I heard about on this site is helping.
Good luck on the bath. If you are somewhere where you can find Avon products, I would say it is worth a try. She bathes in it about 3 times per week.

Bumps and Redness Reduced for 10-year old irl

My daughter has been recently diagnosed with KPR this is what we have tried and works pretty well
I found these boards looking up this skin condition the derma. said my daughter has. She started getting it over a year ago and I just thought it would eventually go away but it never did. The doctor prescribed a lotion that made it worse. It was called Lac-Hydrin. So me being the mother I am took matters in my own hands and decided to try everything I could possibly try. I went to the store and bought tons of lotions, etc. This is what we have done so far.

We started using Dove pro age body wash. I had her take one of those facial gloves and told her to use this on her face and exfoliate morning and evening. Then I we tried Eucerin Redness relief after it dried. This did work for the redness really well. I was very impressed with this but she was still upset about the bumps. She is 10 and both cheeks are covered with bumps. She said kids were making fun of her so I told her to stop the redness relief and just start using Eucerin Plus Intensive repair body creme. At first it didn't do anything. Then the bumps lessoned and lessoned. The redness came back so I said okay use the Eucerin plus then use the Eucerin Redness Relief. She has been doing this routine for 2 weeks now and we have saw an major difference in her skin. Her bumps have diminished I would say 50 percent and redness is always gone with the redness relief. I wish I could find something to completely get rid of the bumps but I told her that is probably impossible. I feel so bad for her. She also has hydrohydrosis (excessive sweaty hands and feet) now this. The girl can't catch a break.

Oh we have also been using bare minerals rare minerals acne treatment. I don't know if this is doing anything since it isn't acne and we don't use it all the time so it probably isn't doing anything.

I hope this routine may help someone else. The key is to exfoliate too.

Leslie

Re: Success Stories: What Works for KP on Children

I would just like to post an update on how the Neutrogena Transparent Face Wash is working on my daughter. She has been using it for about 2 weeks and her face is much better than it was. She uses it once a day at bath time. The bumps are still there, but they have gone down a bit and the redness is also better. I do see a change. I am hoping this is working for her. I knew nothing about this face wash before joining this forum. Thanks to those who post, because we are all looking for something that will work for us or our child.

Re: Success Stories: What Works for KP on Children

My daughter is 15 months and has kp on her legs and arms like usual but also on her face w/a lot of redness. I have been using Body Shop's Aloe Moisture Lotion and it has been improving by a good amount. Still some redness on her face but not as much. It is extremely expensive though and what I had were samples the girl in the store gave me so I'm hoping to find something else that works just as well but is cheaper. Going to try some Arbonne a friend is letting me try next week so I'll post how that works if it does...

Re: Success Stories: What Works for KP on Children

Chewable Omega-3 capsules reduced my 6 yr old's mild KP by more than half. It figures since his father's got better that way too. Also, he doesn't eat fish or walnuts or foods high in O3s so he certainly needed it from _somewhere_. We currently have nordic naturals children's chewables or something like that. they are de-fishified and strawberry flavored. My picky eater will chew them without much complaint.
Additionally, in the supr-dry winters we get here in the northern U.S. plains, we don't have him bathe as often as in the summer. Really, humidity is 30% at best in our house at those times (sometimes worse) and he's not sweating. PLUS, we don't use soap all over his body in ANY season as it is mostly just drying too.
All bets are off on both of these when puberty kicks in. - bd
