Hello everyone this is the first time I have ever posted anything...so bare with me. My son, who will be 5 yrs old in June started showing signs of KP when he was just 13 days old. I have had him to every doctor within a 2hr drive from here. They all just give him creams and ointments that don't seem to work. He has this from the top of his forehead to the top of his feet....not one inch of him was spared. I feel so guilty because I have a mild case of it. I know that I gave this awful disease to him. I can't help but hate myself for it. I pray to God regularly to take it away from him and give it to me.....let me be the one to live with it. On top of it all he has allergies to everything coming and going and eczema that flares regularly. I just feel so sorry for him and feel like I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work.....If anyone knows of anything, no matter how off the wall...please let me know.

All I can say is that you have to have faith and no doubts in your mind that he is going to get well. That way you transmit your feeling to your baby, caus eyou know, they feel everything tahtis going on around them.

When I read your post I felt emotional because I'm a first time mommy (4 month old baby girl) and now I understand this kind of LOVE. I know that you want to do ANYTHING to help your baby, it's awesome how much we love them...You are a great mommy!

I don't know what you can use on children that is safe, I have heard that coconut oil helps, but I haven't tried it yet. I have a moderate to sever case of KP myself and I had such low self esteem when I was a child because of it. Just make sure that you can give him as much confidence in himself and you can. You sound like such a caring mother. Don't give up trying new things, and don't blame yourself. It won't help him or you.

The one positve thing that I can say about KP is it made me see beauty in a different way. Inner beauty is something that no one can take away, and it sounds like you have a beautiful soul. Keep positive because if you are postive then he will be too. We are all given things in life to overcome, look at the silver lining!
