Lots of views, no advice

Wow, I guess I really did stumble upon a "community"... a "community" of people hocking products for KP. With 64 views of my post, not one person could tell me one thing I could do to help my 9 month-old. But look at the "What Worked for your Kids" post and there are a lot of people marketing their products. Nice! Let the buyer beware!!!

Re: Lots of views, no advice

Hello Robin,

I am interested in which posts you read where people were "marketing their products", as this is not allowed on this forum. If you don't mind, please point these out to me.

On the other hand, anyone can share a positive experience with a product if it has helped their KP and let others know about it, which is different than "hocking products".

With the combined, shared experiences on this forum, we have learned that one product or method that helps one person may not help another. Perhaps this is due to KP having different causes, therefore different successful remedies.

If you did a lot of reading on Parents Corner, I hope you were able to get some ideas on different remedies to try to see if one could help your child. There seems to be no one tried and true remedy, sadly. We are all trying to find something to help our children or ourselves.

I look forward to hearing from you.

kebod

You are right...lots of views a no advice, yet.

Some threads may need a little bit more time to get a response from our community.

In your case, I know that some people want to help you out, but doesn't take the chance as it is very irresponsible to recommend some products or give some advice because your baby is so small.

I read your thread the first day you posted it, I wanted to help, but couldn't. Sincerely, I don't know any treatment that suits a 9 month old baby. I can't dare to recommend any chemical or procedure because babies skin is soooo delicate and sensitive!
(I have a 4 month old baby girl)

The only thing I can say is to try to take your baby to the doctor and test him/her for food allergies to see if making changes in her diet can help kp.

Some members are allergic and/or sensitive to lactose (milk and derivatives), wheat, eggs, etc...

I know how frustrating is wanting help for your beloved baby and not receive it. We as a community want to help you out, but we need some patience from you and some feedback when trying some suggestions...

Please, excuse my English as it is not my first language.

Take care,
Elsa

I, too, looked at your thread. My son with KP is 13 years old, so is able to try many things for himself. I agree with others that say that having such a young bub with KP makes us more nervous about recommending products. I will say that my son uses natural milk products from Index of / but they are an Australian company and I don't know if they ship OS.
Apart from that we have been Oil pulling, using Apple Cider Vinegar and using EFT. None of these things are appropriate for such a young baby.
Sorry, but hopefully as your little one gets older you will discover more options.

Re: Lots of views, no advice

Thank you Elsa and sigzephyr... now I have a better understanding of the whole thing. I thought there would be more babies with this for some reason. I also thought there would be more (and easier) solutions.

As for the "hocking" of products, I just looked at one or two threads and saw some pharmacist from Australia offering free samples of what he/she created until, lo and behold, you can't make this or get a sample, you have to buy it. To the moderator: this thread is one of the top threads in the parents corner and not really difficult to find. In that same thread, someone else offered Arbonne products (another sales pitch). So what I'm pointing out here is that, no one is mentioning any products unless he/she has profit to gain from it. Very frustrating to someone looking to help their baby.

But like I said before, I greatly appreciate the advice from Elsa and sigzephyr... even a few words can give someone peace of mind. Thank you.

Re: Lots of views, no advice

Hi! I just joined as I have been trying for years to help my kids with KP. 3 boys - 3 cases. All a little different, our new baby has it the worst. Our Pediatrician has recommended eucerin and aquaphor. they don't hurt, but only help a little. Also recommended against harsh soaps, including bubble baths, much to the despair of my older boys. Went to a dermatologist, but the extra expense of lotions that insurance didn't cover didn't seem to help either. They are better in the summer. I am hear looking for advice, just like you! Good luck to us all!!
