My year old daughter has KP on her cheeks and it's spreading to her chim and other parts of her face, more predominately on her left side. She has bumps and many of them turn red, especially if it is a really cold day. My pediatrician recommended lac hydrin 5, which has really had very little effect. I had read that acidophillus helps, but after 3 weeks of taking Yum Yum dophillus, still no improvement. What other remedies do parents suggest? Over the counter creams and lotions do not help. We've tried Eucerin, Mimyx (rx), and Lac Hydrin 5. Some people suggest taking dairy out of her diet. How many weeks after removal does it take to see a result? I'm truly at a loss.

Not being a parent of a child with KP, I can't give you an answer, but I can tell you that whatever remedy you try, give it at least 30 days before giving up on it. I hope you find something that helps your daughter.
