I am glad I found this forum. I have a 10 month old son whom I believe to have KP. I have taken him to the pedi, but he always says its Eczema. I have been doing some online research and am starting to think is more than just that. Here are his symptoms....what do you all think?

1. Very early on, he developed small skin colored bumps on the back of his shins & arms. Lotion never really helped clear it up.
2. He periodically gets small bumps on his cheeks, which sometimes spread onto his forehead & chin.
3. The other day I noticed he had small bumps on his back - the pedi said it was a heat rash
4. Today he also had the small bumps on his chest & tummy.
5. He is not running a fever, not fussy, & doesn't appear to be itchy.
6. I have been putting Aquaphor on him the past few days. Very little change.
7. I gave him a bath & scrubbed him down - the bumps went away but there is still some light pink splotches were some of the bumps were.
8. The temperature has dramatically gotten colder in the past 5 days.
9. Skin issues run deep in my side of the family. As a teenager I remember having small skin colored bumps on my forearms alot. I also had eczema as a baby. My mother has it pretty good - especially on her hands.

I know most of you are parents like me, but do you think my self-diagnosis of KP may be on track?

I have been reading some threads & there is a lot of good advise. I am going to give them a try.

Just curious...What kind of milk is your baby drinking? Was your baby on formula, breast feeding, regular cow's milk?

Hi Zoe!
To answer your question, he was on breast milk for the first month, and then formula (similac advance) for the months thereafter.

Hmmm...My baby developed the same bumps and the pediatrician told me It could be intollerance to the formula.

I am breast feeding her more often and her skin has improved dramatically. I only give her formula, (Enfamil Lipil) when my breasts hurt a lot.

Have you tested your baby for food allergies? It is a simple test in the arm.

No. Hadn't even thought of that. I will be sure to bring it up at his 12mth eval (in 6 weeks already! ).
