Hi, I have 11 year old twin girls who have had KP since birth. The have it on their face and arms. We just found this forum and are looking for some advice on coconut oil? Has anyone had success using it?
We have tried lotion with alpha hydroxy with little success. I just bought Uremol urea 10 and plan to try it with 2% salicylic acid. I need to know how to use and in what form to buy coconut oil??

The KP has never been a huge problem but is getting worse and is annoying them more and more as they get older. I have read many of the threads, but need a solution that is simple as they are not likely to continue with complicated routines. Thanks!

I can't support using AHA acids on children, as their skin is so much more sensitive, plus acid use makes the skin much more suseptible to sun damage and occurance of skin cancer (due to sun damage). Others may differ with my, but that is my opinion.

Coconut oil can be purchased online or from a natural food store or health food store. If they don't stock it, ask them to order it. Look for organic coconut oil that has not be deoderized or bleached.

Thanks for your advice. We used Avon Moisture Therapy alpha Hydroxy which does not list a % of AHA, so I would assume it is low, but was not aware that it was not good to use on children. I appreciate the feedback! Is Urea safe?? I researched it online and could not find any warnings?? I will definately get the natural coconut oil to try.
