My daughter has had KP since she was born. I don't really worry about her arms, but her face. It looks like she has pimples at 7!!!!! I have tried so many creams & lotions-most which sting and make her cry-making me feel like the most horrible mother! She asked me the other day why she has bumps- it broke my heart. I was recently told that the sticky pore condition associated with this disease may make her more prone to BAD acne. Has anyone else heard that?

I think the face is particularly tricky and I am looking for any tips or specific products you have used.

If you don't get an answer here, post your questions on the "Parent's Corner" forum. I hope someone can help you there with your questions. Yes, the facial skin is tender, especially on children, and we need to be careful with what we put on them. I hope you find a solution.

My son is almost 5 years old. He has had KP on his face and arms for as long as I can remember,but not since birth. I just recently found out what it was after asking about every doctor I've ever come in contact with. Anyway, he is also allergic to milk and the doctor said eczema can be a result of allergies- I've read that Kp is kind of linked to eczema. Some one else told me that sugar can make KP worse. His gets really bad when he gets hot and sweaty. The pediatrician gave me some Eucerin calming creme, but it did not seen to help. I got some DermaDoctor KP Duty lotion and it seems to helping a little. We've only been using it a few days,though. Also,I have it on my arms and if I use any soap other than Dove deep moisture body wash,it gets worse. Hope that helps out at all.
