Question 14 month old w/kp on face

I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has a child this young w/ kp and has had any luck with any specific types of lotions. I myself have kp worse on back of my upper and forearms as well after having my second child a couple months ago. And my 14 mo old's face has gotten even more red since it's been sooo humid. Any recommendations would help for my little one, or if you have any suggestions for me also. Thanx.

RE: 14 month old w/kp on face

I know exactly what you are going through. I tried every prescription cream out there. My daughter is now 3 and we got our first sign of relief with Extra Virgin Coconut oil about 6 to 9 months ago. I swear, her skin looked better within days. I wish I had known about EVCO when my daughter was even younger. You can get EVCO from your local health food store. Just put a little bit in a bowl and put the bowl in some hot water and it would liquify in minutes. Then rub it all over the KP affected areas. Beware--a little goes a long way! I preferred using this becuase it was natural and not some horrible prescription cream that didn't work anyway. We call it her "special lotion" and she now helps us put it on her body when she's getting dressed in the morning, when she's going to bed, and after all baths.

Now that my daughter is a little older I also use Lacteem kp Junior fragrance free that I order for her. But I still use EVCO too.

You also might try shea butter or emu oil but I haven't used either of those myself.

I can't say the kp is completely gone but it is much, much better than when she was a baby.

Good luck and, believe me, there is hope!

Hi Planet:

I am so pleased that my formula, Lacteem kp Junior Fragrance Free, is helping your daughter. I made it for our own son's kp, and trialled it right here in this forum:

so it is cool that together we can do something positive about kp!

Kind regards,

Annuu

Thank you for creating this cream! I love it. I use it with the coconut oil and my daughter's skin is looking very good. It just seems plumper--I don't know how to describe it any other way.

Look at my posting under general discussion

Please look at my posting under general discussion. My daughters appeared at 14 months also. I know have found out that she has a food sensitivity, not allergy, to milk. We now use goat milk. Since 12 months or so is the time that they go to regular milk, this may be the reason that you are seeing that now.
