unsure!!!! just discovered this - is it KP?
Hi there. I'm a confused mum ... (from australia hence no 'mom' lol)... I have just stumbled across this site whilst looking for some explanation for the bumps on my 3 year old's arms and face, which I have been trying to cure myself for over 2 years now, to no avail. Whenever I have taken him to a 'professional' to find out what the spots are, I am told since it's not itchy, inflamed or irritating, it's of no consequence whatsoever and just live with it. (or get told the classic I don't know "It's viral, it will pass".) I can't stand the way other mothers especially look at my son like he has some hideous contagious disease, since I've been reassured it's not contagious, it's just skin deep and of no consequence. For this reason I am desperate to fix it all up before he goes to school if I have any chance at all!!!!! So, if anyone can help me to identify whether I am on the right track or way off.. then I'll have something to take with me to a dermatologist/herbologist or whomever. So, it started when he was around 14 months old, the two locations I see it are on the backs of his arms (between elbow and shoulder) and on his face (cheeks). Just recently, there are a few spots on his forehead, nose and chin too; all this though and my son just doesn't even seem to notice there's anything there at all. The spots sometimes go a bit red; only the spots themselves though not the area surrounding. Also, I have noticed little plugs coming out of the bumps which is what lead me to discovering this as a possibility. Can anyone tell me if this is way off the symptoms of KP so I know if I'm really wrong or not???? Thank you so much to all for such a brilliant forum!!!!!!!!
