Just Diagnosed Today
Hello. Iam brand new to this tonight. my son was just diagnosed today as having kp. He is 15 mo old today. He has had red bumps on his legs all over and arms all over and his face ever since he was 4 mo old. I am a liitle overwhelmed right now with all of this. My family dr said it was "baby excema" and he would grow out of it by 18 months or so. Now the allergist we saw today says its kp and gave a prescription for a topical steroid cream. i feel so devastated that this kp is a lifetime battle and i can't "fix" it for him. I don't know what to do first, i already bathe him in aveeno soap for excema and use the lotion also. Should i just continue or do I want to use steroids on a baby's sensitive skin? Also anyone have this and it's red more in the summer and when you are hot, his bumps are worse in the summer than in the winter they almost get like white heads on the bumps and turn really red????
