I am so glad ive found this website!
My daughter was diagnosed at around 7mths she is now almost 4 yrs old. I was shocked to discover i am a carrier, i have the tell tale bumps on the top of my arms. Molly has it on her arms, thighs, buttocks and her face. Her face looks red and bumpy. I have been using Aqueous as an emollient and Calmurid as a keratolytic. I have noticed very little improvement in Molly's skin and the doctor isn't offering an alternative. I would welcome any help regarding this. |

I was given those things aswell. They did nothing for me
. There are lots of ideas on here if you look around that are promising. AHA creams are very good . At the moment i use a pumice stone to scrub my skin and then apply a gentle AHA lotion. I also use something called bio-oil which helps with marks and redness over time but i've only just started to use it so i can't say what it's effects are. You definately need to exfoliate no matter what treatment you choose. This will help with bumps. You also need to keep the skin moisturised and soft, things with coconut oil/butter and Vitamin E are very good for this. Omega oils are also good, you can get these in a gummy treat made by Bassets which you should be able to find in any good shops. Thats just what i know but there's lots more on here that could help, good luck ![]() |

Hi, Molly -- My daughter's face got much better after we started washing with Neutrogena soap. We have also been applying Neutrogena bump-minimizing lotion, which has been very helpful, though I understand (to my disappointment) that this cream has been discontinued. I'm sure you could purchase it via eBay, though. I contacted Neutrogena to ask why it was discontinued, and they said it didn't sell as well as they had expected. So annoying! The one cream that really worked for my daughter.
Good luck. Also -- using a humidifer in your daughter's bedroom at night may help her skin. |

Thank you to both of you for your input.
I do exfoliate her face already but i will try your suggestions. Ive been told she suffers from background erythema on her face as well, is this linked to KP? |
