New to site as well
Hello!
I am new to this site as well. I have 15 month old twins, girl and boy, who both have KP. And right now my daughter has an aggravated case of it. I ran out of "Dove" soap that we always use on them and used some "Aveeno" baby wash that we had and unfortunately it aggraveted her KP. It is extremely red and raised, and the Dr's were no help, they just gave us something oral for her to take for the itching... We've been puting on her Cetaphil lotion, which is usually really helpful for it, but it hasn't helped at all. I was just wondering if anyone out there has run across an instance where something has aggravated it and if there is anything I can do to make it better quickly.. Thanks in advance for any help or advice! |

New to this also-
Hi there- I am a newly frustrated Mom. My one year old son was diagnosed with KP. He was first diagnosed by his pediatrician, but I didn't fully believe him so I took him to a dermatologist and she said, "yes, it's KP". The reason I questioned it to begin with was 1) They said it was hereditary, I definitely do not have it and the only sign that I could see my husband may have it are tiny bumps on the back of his arms. Right now, though, my son's KP is horrible- it's all over his arms, legs and face. 2) I kept reading that KP gets better in the summer and worse in the winter. My son's has gotten a lot worse in the heat of the summer. Have you experienced this?
Back to your post, I've been trying different things including the Dove sensative exfoliant body wash (I heard that worked) and different lotions. Unfortunatly, yes, I do think something has aggrevated it b/c it's gotten worse in the last couple of weeks. His little face looks so bad. It doesn't seem to bother him, it just bothers me. How long did it take for yours to get better once you got back on the Dove? Right now I'm trying the Neutrogena facial soap and the Eucerin Aquaphor lotion. Have you tried these? I'm so glad that this forum is out there for some advice on this. Doctors don't seem to help very much. |

Welcome!!
I know something that has helped several mothers, including me, who have children with Eczema/KP. The attached photos are of a little boy who has used it with amazing results when prescription creams wouldn't work. I have another before & after picture of another little boy, but it was too big to put on here. I know it won't help everyone, since everyone's skin is different, but it is worth a try! It is the Arbonne Baby Care line and it is made by Arbonne, which you may have read a lot about on here already. I hate to mention it anymore (even though it helps!) because I don't want to offend anyone who may think I am 'advertising' it. Anyway, I often give away (free
) samples, so if either of you would like some just email me at janae1823@aol.com. |

I'm one of those "other moms" whose child was healed by Arbonne! Give it a try, the samples are free!

Did the Arbonne help the KP bumps or just reddness? Also, what product specifically did you use of the Arbonne?

It helped with the bumps only (we don't have redness, really). We used the ABC line. Specifically, the hair & body wash, the oil (in the bath), the lotion (occasionally, as needed), and the sunscreen. It cleared right up!

Ok, I know a girl who sells Arbonne so I will consider that as well.

You need to talk to the Arbonne Consultant you know and mention to her, in case she doesn't know, that the ABC line is working great for moms of children who are having skin issues
. I think it is a great alternative to prescription creams (unless they are truly needed, of course). My little girl was given Elidel, which did not work, and has now been taken off of the market. Most moms that I know, including myself, mainly use the wash, oil & lotion. Of course we also use the sunscreen on them when going outside. And the ones w/babies use the diaper cream, too. But the oil is my favorite ABC product, hands down! I love it. Now, on my skin, I use the NutriminC Body System...and that is what several other adults with KP have been using. Both have helped with redness & bumps for several people. For some, it may only help with one or the other, and some it may not help at all. Everyone's skin is different, so I think it is trial & error. With me, it has helped both. And usually you can't even tell I have KP, but my right arm still wants to get red sometimes...weird. I just think it is so sad for kids to have skin problems like KP. But, the way I always look at things is that it could always be worse...they could be blind, deaf, or confined to a wheelchair. I don't want my kids to suffer with KP, but if that is all they suffer with as a child, I will be sooo thankful! There are so many things that could be worse than having KP, or at least that is how I look at it. ![]() |
