Hydrocortisone 2.5% and 4 y/o son

I am so happy to find this site!! I just found out that my 4y/o has KP. He has it mainly on his cheeks and just a small bit on his upper arms. The dermatologist prescribed hydrocortisone 2.5%. I am concerned about using this on my son. We have been using it twice a day in a thin layer for 5 days, but the KP seems worse. He also suggested using cetaphil. If anyone can give me some advice regarding treatments for this age, I would greatly appreciate it. I would love to find something without a prescription.

You came to the right place, danakay! Many of us have had success with Arbonne's children and infant's line called ABC. It consists of a hair and body wash, a lotion, a sunscreen, an oil, and a diaper rash cream. It's all-natural and made entirely of plants and herbs. It's also really mild. I've read more than one post about Cortizone being too harsh for sensitive skin and/or children.

I noticed a HUGE difference on my 3 year old with the wash and sunscreen alone. I've not had to use the other products, but then, her condition was comparatively mild (not to her!). I just started using it on her because we'd gone mineral oil free in our household (after learning how horrible it is) and one day I realized, "Hey! She only has one bump left! (on her rear)" I put 2 and 2 together and realized that we'd been using the ABC line for about a month. Another poster, Janae, says it cleared up her child's KP too. I actually have 4 other moms (who are friends of mine, not on the forum) who saw my daughter and then used it on their children to have all sorts of things go away: KP, eczema, dry skin, and even "baby acne" If you'd like to try it, you can email me at allisonsullivan@insightbb.com or check out my other threads, "Clearing up with Arbonne" or "Before and After Pics are Here" (pics of my KP, not hers, I wish I'd known to take before pics of hers...). You can search for them in the General Discussion forum by using the search tool at the top mid-right of the page. Good luck!

Thanks for your advice!! It helps to know that you have friends that these products have helped. I will make a point to check out the Arbonne site. How long do these products usually last?

THANKS

We ran out of the wash after 3 months. We still haven't run out of sunscreen (because we don't have to use it as frequently, obviously) and it has been 4 months. We haven't even opened the oil or lotion yet, because I use the Aromatherapy "Unwind" Massage oil in her bath on occasion to help her settle down for bedtime. She hasn't really needed any moisturizer aside from that.

Oh, I almost forgot, you get a free gift when you order the set, Intelligence Rejuvenating Cream, that is really taking the red out of a particularly nasty scar on my hand. It also turned a light sunburn to tan in about 2 hours time! Some people have had luck using it on stretch marks, too (I'm going to try that when I get everything else under control)... Just thought you'd want to know

yes. go to www.arbonne.com and click "shop online" When you select your 1st product, a screen will come up that says to enter Consultant ID (they won't let you order without one). You can use mine #16032446, or email me and I can sign you up for your own so you can save 35% right off the bat (and on every order for a year). There's no strings either way.
