My son aged 12 was recently diagnosed with Foliculitus and obviously carrying out my own research found this site - is protein in the Urine a symptom of KP ?? The spots / bumps that my son has are all within the area around the top of his legs and looks like lots of red bumps some of which are covered with whitehead spots but also he has very bumpy skin - almost like dry goosebumps - in the same area. Sorry if this all seems terribly english - that's because it is - my apologies as I was not sure on the US translation.

not bad english! Where are you living? It sounds like KP to me! It's commonly called "gooseflesh" because of the raised, keratin-filled bumps. They look like tiny whiteheads, and commonly affect the upper arms & upper legs. I'm not sure about the protein in the urine, but I have heard (read?) others talking about it in other forums...

Treatments for kids
Thanks for that I am just trying to find as much info as possible and this site is a great help - especially reading others experiences and how it can affect you phsically and psychologically. I am in Gloucestershire in the UK, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of info over here and certainly our doc did not acknowledge this as KP. In your experience which do you consider the best treatment for your child or does it vary from person to person. I have read on this site all sorts of remedies and products that can help but as a newcomer I find it quite daunting as there are so many.

Hi there.
Being from New Zealand, I can empathise with your situation. Quite a few of the products mentioned on this site (and there are many!) and not available outside of the USA. I developed a cream for my wife's kp, and it was found to be very helpful for her skin. I asked on this website if anyone would like to try it out and the results were very good (see the message thread called "Who would like to try this?"). It might work well for your son. Thanks and all the best! Annuu Last edited by Elsa Zoe; 10-17-2007 at 11:50 PM. |

Yeah, the product that worked for me and my daughter is Arbonne and right now it's not available outside the US and Canada. Next year they're supposedly going global, so if you haven't found something by then, check back with me. I have a friend whose daughter lives in NZ and she shipped her some arbonne from here. I know she loved it, but I don't know how much shipping was for the 3 products. Maybe I'll ask her...
You might also check the post about meat tenderizer and coconut oil. They seem to be having some luck with that. I've also heard something about vinegar. Search for a post containing those 3 words, or contact me about shipping you some arbonne. I'll figure it up... allisonsullivan@insightbb.com |

$27.30 approximately for England... I'm just estimating the weight as I haven't packaged them and taken them to the post office to be weighed... I think I'm even over estimating...: )
