Exfoliating a child's face? Gently, of course.

My daughter, who's 9, has mild KP on her cheeks. We use Lac-Hydrin 12% on her face, which works pretty well, but I'm wondering if we should be attempting to exfoliate her facial skin to loosen the bumps. Will this just worsen the problem? Also, any recommendations for facial cleansers that actually help this condition would be much appreciated. We've used Cetaphil which doesn't seem to do much of anything one way or the other. Does Neutrogena (the clear facial bar) seem to work?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

Try Arbonne's ABC line. It worked for my daughter! She only has 1 bump left (and it's on her bottom)! email me at allisonsullivan@insightbb.com for details in ordering, as well as my before and after pics. I don't know about exfoliating a 9 yr old's face, but if you decide to try it, I can suggest some products...

I would think any of the normal exfoliating face washes- typically marketed for "blackhead clearing" or acne and stuff like that- would work. You might as well give it a try and if the exfoliating doesn't work then stop. I have had good luck with exfoliating on the face. My bumps there are gone. But I know different people have had different experiences with it.

I don't know if I would use any type of exfoliant because a nine year old's skin is still very delicate. Using a wash and a washcloth should exfoliate her face enough.
