Hello to all,
I've just stumbled upon this site and registered after taking my 12 y/0 daughter to the dermatologist yesterday. She has had KP for as long as I can remember, as has her 16 y/o sister and myself. While ours has gotten progressively better over the years, hers has become worse to the point that her pediatrician referred us to the dermatologist. I went yesterday expecting her to take a look, pronounce the KP diagnosis, prescribe an ointment, etc. Immediately however, the doctor took a look at the bumps on the insides of her arms (which have really just come up in the past few months) and did a biopsy. She said KP does not usually happen on the inside of the arms. She didn't go into much detail at the time (my daughter was visibly shaken by the procedure as was I) but said we would discuss at follow up appointment next week. My question to you guys is (1) Do any of you guys have the KP on the insides of your arms, and (2) have any of you had a biopsy done in regards to your KP, and if so, why was the biopsy done? I should have asked more questions yesterday, but to tell you the truth, I was so shocked at the chain of events that I wasn't thinking clearly. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Yes, I had it on the inside of my arms and still have a couple bumps there. It sounds like that Doctor needed money for his/her Porsche payment!

I also had it on the inside of my arms. Incidentally, they were the easiest to pick and get stuff out of. Yuck!

Yep, I get them on the insides of my arms, although not as many bumps, but they tend to be bigger.

It's not just a few bumps on the inside of her arms, there's as many as on the outside, almost entirely covered. While it does help to know other's have them there as well, i'm not sure I was descriptive enough. I also have had a few pop up every now and then there, but the inside of her arms are like the coursest sandpaper you could find, just thousands of tiny nodules. Then the whole biopsy thing, I'm probably just overreacting, but still very worried. I appreciate you guys responding though.
