2 boys with KP

I have a 6 and 3 years old sons with KP. Both of them have it on their arms, thighs and buttocks. The 3 year old has occasional problems with his cheeks. We have tried everything under the sun from steriod creams to lactic acid lotions, gentle cleansers etc. My oldest recently made a trip to the ped for a rash behind his knees and on his inner thighs. He was diagnosed with a milk allergy. Instead of discontinuing all milk products I experimented with going organic for most of our dairy. Not only did the behind the knees rash clear up, but all of their KP cleared up, COMPLETELY.

If it was the milk that caused kp, i'd be in a world of hurt lol. I just love dairy TOO much. I don't drink milk anymore.. but stuff like chocholate and cheese and the occasional yogurt.. ahh!! And chocholate flavored whey protein.. I would die if I had to have unflavored whey

Oh man, I'd die without dairy also. I was just shocked to see that switching to organic v/s non organic made the difference.

The difference being that organic dairy comes from cows NOT treated w/ hormones.

Maybe it's the hormones in regular dairy that flares KP, since it seems like it's a somewhat hormone aggravated skin disorder.

Update

Update. We have continued with hormone free dairy since March. Both boys are 95% KP free now.

We've switched to Laura's Lean Beef and Perdue Chicken for the anti-hormone reasons, too. I don't want my daughter developing at an early age. And we eat organic eggs, too. It didn't help my KP tho.

Can you tell me how quickly your boys KP cleared up? I have a 14 month old and I have trouble getting him to eat anything at all. What do you suggest I buy to feed him? Do you have any brand names of products I should buy? I am desparate. My poor baby gets comments everywhere we go. I feel so bad for him.

Look in the section that has the soymilk. There's usually a type or 2 of organic milk. It will say Hormone Free on it. Our section is in the Produce part of the store, not with the other milk, butter, eggs, etc... They make yoBaby yogurt, too. It's by Stoneybrooke farms or something like that. My daughter loved it!

Thank you for responding. I will do some more research on other things he could eat and then I will try that. Thanks! Anyone know how long it should take to see results from changing your diet?
