attn MOMs of kids w/ KP (Please Read)

When I was a kid, Neutrogena's transparent bar soap got rid of my KP in 2 weeks. The derm told my mom to buy this for me to use. You can get it at drugstores, etc, and it's not overly expensive compared to other solutions.

When I was little (with kp) I was really allergic to most bar soaps, I would get a bad rash etc.. And yes, that Neutrogena transparent bar soap was one of the only kinds that my mom could use for my skin. I wish it was still so magical now

Me too. I had exzema and this is what I used but I tried this first on my daughter and it did not help her KP.

It seems KP is becoming resistant to old remedies ...

HI!!!!

I was ill, had a rare birth deffect, then my granddad died and I had to move in with my grandma until her room at my moms is ready. I had no computer here for a while. Just got it back, had to catch up on emails and clean up some things and now, here I am!

How have you been?
Ann Phelps

Yeah that is SO freain wierd!!

I wish some biochemist could take out a chunk of someone's KP and analyze every single bit of it to see what's different in it than in regular skin.. It's like a freaking virus or bacteria! Becoming "Immune" to soap and stuff.. wierd ****

Does anyone think that it would be possible to do this? To have a 'biopsy' of sorts to have analyzed? I could donate a piece of my backside...I wouldn't miss it! But seriously, I don't understand why no one can find out what causes KP. I may look into this subject....

I agree WRT finding a cure. My 2 year old son has had KP since birth and it has just gotten worse and worse as he gets old. I have tried 100's of soaps, creams etc, seen many docs to no avail - the new treatment will help for a bit and then just flare up again. It really breaks my heart - it just looks so sore and nasty. He doesn't seem bothered (yet) by it, my husband has it too on his upper arms but didnt know what it was until our son was diagnosed. I just wish i could do something to give him smooth beautiful skin like most people! Surely in this day and age, there must be some one who can come up with a cure!
