Thankful to find this site!!!

Hi! I'm mom to a newly adopted little girl, turning 1 year old on Aug 29th. When I met her in Russia at 9 1/2 months, her skin was totally clear. At 10 1/2 months, her face was covered in bumps. Since being with us, she also has developed bumps on her knees, but they are skintoned and no big deal. The bumps on her face are my main concern. They are all over her cheeks. Redness went away with use of a generic form of AmLactin 12%, but then I tried the name brand AmLactin from a sample the pediatric dermatologist gave us, and her cheeks are now all pink again. So back to regular generic and using Aveeno lotion to moisturize. I also tried the Eucerin aquarfor on her cheeks, but the bumps seemed to immediately overnight increase in amount. It seems great on her legs though. Like many here, I am fearful of the future and what that may hold, praying she will be one of the lucky ones that outgrows it like my pediatrician keeps reassuring me. She is very fair and has potential to be a very tall girl, so I'm praying her facial skin improves and her self esteem won't suffer. Anyway, I read on another site that someone tried microdermabrasion on their face and that it really helped. I'm thinking of trying this on her lower cheeks. to see if the bumps may finally go away, but don't dare on the apples of her cheeks - too afraid of getting it into her eyes. She is a very tolerant baby. ANy other suggestions to deal with the bumps?

All the Best,
Lynda

Hi Lynda, your daughter is very lucky to have a mom like you, my mom did nothing to help me when I was a child and that has burden me all this time. So don't give up! she may be too yung for the dermabrasion but keep aplying the amlactin and the aveeno, it could be a life time routine, But don't give up!
Best regards!
