Doctor said it was keratosis
My daughter has had a skin condition that started on her cheeks at about six months. They would be hot, dark red - almost purple - and develop little pimples. I took her to see her doctor, he did not know. It eventually passed, though she has what now looks like tiny white heads. The conditions developed on her upper arms, then to her forearms, on her thighs and now at 22 months, her shins and calves. It looks like hundreds of whiteheads are covering her arms and legs. They are not infected pimples, just hundreds of white plugs that can be scratched off with fingernails or squeezed. It almost looks like toad skin with whiteheads. It is worse in warm weather, seems like all the whiteheads come to the surface of her skin. I asked the doctor at her 18-month check-up, he said it was keratosis. I researched keratosis and have seen pictures, they do not look like what she has. They are not red bumps at all, though her skin does become red and inflamed where the “keratosis” is. Is there a way I can post a picture of her skin so someone can verify it is in fact keratosis? Thanks for your help. JFig

Sorry, I am bad about computers so I can't help you there, but it sounds like your child has Keratosis Pilaris. I first had a hard time diagnosing my son because his bumps looked different than photos I had seen. Plus they did not show Keratosis Pilaris photos of babies. His started on his cheeks and spread throughout the body too. Based on your description I would say yes. If you want to be sure you can always see a dermatologist but I think the pediatrician was right.

Without seeing it in person and looking at the photo, I would say that could definitely be kp. I am also going by your description "hundreds of white plugs that can be scratched off or squeezed".
