Sweat perhaps?

I don't know the answer so I hope more people reply to your question. But I am replying because the KP on my arms has been really inflamed the last few days also and the only thing I can think of is the fact that this week has been so very hot (I'm in the South) and I think I have sweated alot more than usual. I was thinking earlier today about how I always hear KP is worse in the cold weather. So I was wondering if really hot and humid weather can be just as bad.

Didn't your daughter have sudden red Keratosis Pilaris because of fifth's disease going around (I think that is what I read from one of your prior posts?)? How long has she had Keratosis Pilaris and is this the first time that it looks this way? I ask because when my son first had Keratosis Pilaris it was just skin colored bumps and then a short while later it turned red and sometimes pimply. So in his case it progressed from one type of Keratosis Pilaris to another.

As for Keratosis Pilaris and warm weather, I can tell you that is also my son's case. I have read lots of places that Keratosis Pilaris is worse with cold weather and that the sun helps them. In my son's case it is hot and cold both. Both extremes cause him to get all red and inflamed and we live in the South too.

Sorry to hear that you feel so helpless with her but there are ways to help it stay under control. And if it makes you feel any better there are a lot of us going through this with our kids. Good luck.
