Hi all! Like everyone on here, I suffer with those nasty red and white bumps all over my body. Mostly, they are on my arms (upper and fore), back, thighs, breasts, and around my eyes. I have been using AmLactin 12%, which the the OTC form of another lotion (Hyd-lactin?) with 12% lactic acid. It seems to sort of be helping. However, I am so embaressed by the combo of hyperpigmentation (the dark spots that almost look like freckles) and scars. My dermatologist has forbidden me from using fade creams because he said that would only cause white blochiness to be added to the problem. Has anyone found this to be true?
However, I think I also have KP on my scalp -- which makes sense when you realise that this is keratin protein around hair folicals. Yet, I didn't notice anyone else mentioning this. I use Neutrogena T-Gel (the icky black kind, Max strength) which really seems to help. Does anyone else get KP on their scalp? It's not as if I can scrub my head with a loofa or massage in the AmLactin with all my hair in the way! Maybe this isn't KP?
