New to KP

The treatment he prescribed has not helped. Looking through this site, I believe what I have is actually KP. It looks exactly like what is described here. But I have very intense itching - that even prevents me from sleeping well. Is that part of KP? I haven't seen that mentioned so far as I have been reading this site. Actually, I have had intense itching off and on over the years. Generally it is linked to my intake of water; or more accurately the lack of water. If I don't keep myself well hydrated, I get extremely itchy! Also, the hormones in birth control pills caused extreme itchiness as did the new Clarinex. About the only thing I can do when the itchiness is really bad is soak in a tub. However, the appearance of my skin is no different when it itches than when it doesn't. It's like the itch comes from a source under the skin rather than on the surface of the skin. If yours appears different, perhaps there is something else going on.
