Ok, I know a lot of you don’t want to try the steroids, but I was to the point that I was so broken out (had them itching so bad I couldn’t stop b/c I scrubed them to hard and made it worse) that I just wanted to get it under control. Then I could try to prevent it from a full breakout again. So I know that I will see a lot of responses of warnings, believe me I know the warnings, I read the paperwork on it and it is kind of intimidating…but since this is strictly short term here, I wanted to give it a try b/c I felt I had no other choice. So does anyone want to be kept updated on the progress? Because it has taken the redness from my arms (which I might add that I have had all my life) in only 2 applications. So, I am going to try it on the face as well. Cannot hurt to try and maybe I can keep my skin exfoliated enough after the treatment that I won’t get any breakouts or return of redness. Anything is possible (I wish), all I can do is try. Right?

I was wondering if you use the sulfur soap on your arms in conjunction with the Desonide cream...I was prescribed Desonide and it worked well until I started using the sulfur soap, and now my arms are extremely red and irritated. I think I am going to stop using the soap altogether (I can't stand the smell!), but I was wondering if there was anyone else that had a problem with mixing the two...maybe my skin is just ultra sensitive.

No, I have not gotten the soap yet. I am just using this right now. First full day of treatment and I am seeing spots where there is no read or bumps.

Can you only get Desonide or any steroid cream with a prescription? I am interested in trying it, or just having it on hand to use when I need to wear something sleeveless.

Karen you have to have a prescription. It has almost taken the read out completely. I still have some red dots at this time but my arm is a normal brown with patches of the light red dots (which are fading with every day). They are just the worst on the top of my arm by my elbow. I have no idea why but they are not responding as much as the rest of the areas. They are showing improvement but still have a ways to go. I have to say that I am extremely happy with this so far (and I know this is not for everyone, but I felt it was a route for me). I just hope that it doesn’t come right back after I finish my treatment. I will be sure to keep updating frequently though b/c I know how important it was for me to read people’s progress but not really seeing them go through it left me with a lot of questions. I was hoping to do this for the board.

In case anyone wanted to know (assume they did but just in case) the cream worked great for the first week. Then it stopped working about a week and half. So I have stopped using it. It did get rid of the bumps and a lot of the red tones on my arm. I fear the red will appear. There was just some stubborn patches that I couldn’t get rid of the red. Bump free though.
