I recently started using a sugar scrub recipe that I read in a magazine. It has really helped my KP and is very cheap. You simply start with about a cup of white table sugar. You mix olive oil with it until it has reached a consistency that you like. It's pretty abrasive, but I use it everyday. I have also tried mixing the sugar with Neutrogena Sesame oil. This works well also, but is more expensive.

You don't leave it on, you scrub with it and then rinse off. I tried a salt scrub which is the same basic recipe, you mix salt and olive oil or baby oil, into a scrub. It actually worked pretty well but I found it a bit messy.
If you do it in the shower you get the tub really oily and slippery. It's best to just do it over the sink, scrub your worst areas and then wipe off it off. The oil left on the skin helps to soften it as well.

I don't leave it on. I just scrub and rinse. It's not the makeup of the sugar that helps. It's the texture.
