Very Cheap Home Remedy for KP
I have always had KP on my upper arms for as long as I can remember. But when I got pregnant for the second time, it spread to my thighs and buttocks. At first I didn't think anything of it, and then my doctor told me it was exzema. When the cream for it didn't work, I got worried. The bumps were very red and just plain unsightly. I kept hiding my skin even from my husband. I went to a dermatologist and he told me what it really was - KP. He then gave me some sample creams that didn't do anything whatsoever. I went out and bought the creams and put a ton on my skin and tried to keep the skin moisturized, which is what he said causes it to some degree (dry skin). When the creams ran out and there was no improvement, I thought of something I would try and see if anything happened. I used Baby Oil on my infant to keep her skin moist and soft, so I thought I would try it on myself. After every shower, or every time I got wet, I would put Baby Oil on my skin. It was greasy at first, but I kept with it. I started putting it on at night, without a shower, just to keep my skin moist at night, and within 2 weeks, the KP on my thighs started improving. To this day, it has been over a year with this method, and yes, there is major improvement. I have no sign of KP on my thighs and buttocks anymore, and the KP on my upper arms is barely visible. This method is like others I read about. If you miss two or more days, your skin starts to dry up and you can start to feel the KP returning. My upper arms seem almost scarred with KP, but since I started using baby oil, it is not as noticable, and very livable. As for my legs, well, I couldn't have guessed it would go away, but it has. I will stick with this method, instead of wasting money on other expensive lotions and creams because I am happy with the results. The bottle lasts quite a long time, and to top it off, my skin is sooooo soft now! Even my kids notice the difference and love cuddling with me. I hope this helps anyone, and hey, with the cost it is worth a try! This is a neverending battle that will always be with me, so I am happy I have found something that works. I won't be coming back on this forum, but I thought I might spread my good news. Thanks and good luck. |
