TO SUM THINGS UP about this all! READ PLEASE!

HI EVERYONE ON THIS WEBSITE! Last night I was just searching around for "cures" for KP, when I stumbled across this site. Thank God for whoever started this site, it is truly encouraging to know that you aren't alone. (An estimated 25% of the world's population has some form of KP I read somewhere) Thank you to the person in charge of this for having well enough morals to stand up to the bad things said. One thing I noticed last night, is that most of the comments pasted were on one subject of KP, well that got kinda hard to read every single one of the responses for all that time! So I figured that if it helps anyone, that I could just sum up what I personally got out of this WONDERFUL site---

-DO NOT PICK! (I am guilty of this as well!) A lot of people were complaining of scars, and that would be half of the problem that makes it twice as noticeable. Picking can spread, infect, and cause itching. It may seem like at the time, oh if I just pick it all off, then they will be gone, NOT TRUE, they do, often times worse, and even more upset, and it looks terrible often times! One woman suggested clipping your nails to the quick to get out of the habit of picking, and after all…short nails are coming back in! So if you cant pick, grand! And also if you have simple nails, it wont draw as much attention to your arms, so there is an absolutely fabulous idea right there!

-THE PRODUCTS: I have never heard of Sulfur Soap, but I definitely plan on ordering some now! A few said that Sulfur maybe be part of the cause of KP, so whether that be true or not, the results is all we're looking for! Sulfur Soap has been HIGHLY! Recommended according to tons of these people, and saying that it gave fast results! (Within 2 weeks!) There were complaints of it though that it gave them face problems (causing acne outbursts on face), but there is a simple solution to that one! Don’t use Sulfur Soap on face and/or neck area! Sulfur Soap is available at SulfurSoap.com and it is $3.50 for one, and for a case of I think 8, it is about $20. MSM, whatever that is, did NOT get very good reviews here at all! Oxy got ok results…everybody's different so, that one suited about half it seems like. (Recommended for the use of "vanishing" blemished scarred areas)

-SHOWERING-an exfoliating brush or one of those body fluffy net things, were recommended and also the "gloves". The exfoliation to slough off some of the roughness and dead skin…an anti bacterial to kill some of that nasty bacteria in there…and SULFUR SOAP! One suggestion that I have found is to balance things out. Don’t exfoliate too much, and don’t moisturize too much. Exfoliating too much may infect areas more than helping it…and moisturizing too much may "drown" your skin, not allowing it to "catch its breath" to have the strength to do a little self healing.

-DIET-People have been suggesting taking vitamin supplements…Vitamin A! highest on the list, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and a little sunshine Vitamin D was recommended…you know the "better in the summer, worse in the winter" thing. You can get Vitamin A by eating simple things like Sweet potatoes, and Vitamin C by Broccoli. (Even though we've all been brought up to think that Vitamin C= oranges, broccoli has a higher content of it!) Some one also suggested mixing lemon juice and lime juice in your water, and just do a "royal flush" for a day. As in drinking nothing but your lemon or lime water all day because a little fast obviously couldn’t hurt most of us…and when your body has nothing to eat, the first cells it would eat would be the dead one. So it seems like a pretty good idea. Help your body from the inside as well as the outside. It makes since that these wretched bumps are coming from bad stuff inside, so eating write and cleaning up inside seems like it makes a whole lotta sense!

-HELP- People don’t like being lied to, someone put it on this site. I strongly agree. Doctors seem to say, "Oh well, you will grow out of it". That is not true for a lot of people. Some people are lucky and it just goes away with time. Well for those of us who haven't gotten that far to really see that…what are we supposed to do until then? Just sit around in long sleeved shirts and pants over the summer, never go swimming and show off our young bodies? Why should KP hold us back? They are just clogged hair follicles??? But to the people WITH KP, its so much more than that. It is just plain embarrassing and it can really do a number on self-esteem! Also a helpful hint, is that during the winter, when we are all allowed to "hide" without the embarrassing questions, you all know what I'm talking about…That is the time we can be doing our work to prepare us for the spring and summer seasons of sleeveless shirts and shorts. We should all be planning ahead because all of these treatments that have been suggested, take time. That’s the key, and why waist a whole winter on just waiting on it to disappear? That should be our healing time. Saunas make a lot of since! They were suggested by one person on here that I read, and I really want to try that one! I ran cross-country and all the sweat that went through and through my skin, it seemed to help a lot because of the cleansing effect it had on pores and all. It not only helps with KP, but cross-country (getting good and sweaty) also helped with my over all facial skin complexion too because I have oily skin.

-LASER HAIR REMOVAL- I haven't tried that one, I'm only 16 years old, and I definitely do not have money for something of that extent! But it makes a whole lot of since because it gets to the "root" of the problem! If it’s the hair follicles that are getting clogged and creating the problem, than hello people! That would get rid of the problem because it's getting directly to the source! For those of us who don't have that kind of money, Igia hair removal systems or Epil stop or whatever it is called, seems to make sense as well! One woman suggested it on here, and said that it seemed to be helping hers!

-SOMETHING COMING UP SOON!- One person on this site, said that she was going to a party soon and needed some help on getting rid of KP fast, sorry guys, that is virtually impossible, seeing how this is a time thing…aww man! But anyway, some suggestions when you cant do anything about the KP, you can do something about hiding it in a discrete way! It was suggested that if you perhaps have to wear a nice top, wear a long sleeved shirt with little slits in the side, that make it look like you aren't burning up, therefor helping avoid the embarrassing questions, and a lower neckline, as long as there is a little skin showing somewhere else, it will balance things out a bit, that way you don’t appear to be "over dressed." If you happen to be a female, you can wear sleek skirts with skin colored panty hose, that way again, you don’t appear to be hiding. In the type of fabric to where, cotton was suggested to be on the safe side, and also remember that simple will be helpful in avoiding attention to what you are wearing. If you don’t draw attention to your clothing, you can successfully hide, and to direct the attention somewhere else, you might consider eyeliner, to draw the attention to your eyes instead of your skin.

-MAKE-UP- Cover up would work, but try not to over do it, because if you get "caught" it could be embarrassing and if it looks all smudgy, it might even make things look worse, so if you decide on trying the foundation, make sure you know what you're doing. And the green-based color was suggested to cancel out the red colors.

So thanks for reading this long thing, but I am hoping to some of you willing to read this, that it will be helpful compared to reading every single response! Happy New Year, and I like that saying, "2003, KP FREE!" That can be all of our secret New Years resolutions! It sure is going to be mine again, for sure.
I look forward to trying the Sulfur soap and the lemon/lime water idea, and I will try to get back and tell y'all how it went!

Oh wait, by the way. Why do we put lotion on afterwards? Why not put it on in the bathtub too! I tried that and it really helped a whole lot!!!! Pour lots of lotion into hot bath water, and just soak and scrub in that lotiony bath water! I'm sure we all have some cheap lotions that we could stand to get rid of, and hey, you sure will be putting it to good use! Good luck, hope all this was helpful!

Hey Rein, just read your post & wanted to let you know that I would definitely recommend you try the sulfur soap. I've used it for a while now & it has definitely improved my KP. And, just in the last week or so I started using it along w/ a stiff brush & have noticed that my bumps are improving even more. I also take MSM, so I'm not sure if that too is helping or not. You had mentioned something about why apply the lotion after bathing & the reason is basically because most people w/ KP have very dry skin(although mine isn't too bad) anyhow, after bathing you want to apply a good lotion to seal in the moisture. And remember not all lotions are created equal. Some may clog the pores,etc... They say that ones containing urea are very good. I am currently using Lubriderm Advanced Therapy & really like it. There are other good ones also if you search the posts. Glad you found this sight. I am 31 & wish this had been around years ago for me. Good luck & Happy New Year!
