With the mapping of the human genome becoming a reality now, as well as cloning, why don't the KP sufferers of the world, all point their voices in the same direction. Doctor's don't really understand the emotional effect of this disease. A cosmetic company with their billions of dollar's in sales per year, would be basically sitting on a goldmine customer base if they took some of their money and put it into researching this and finding a way to alter the flawed gene. What would you be willing to pay to feel comfortable wearing shorts....to wear that sleevless dress, to feel safe and comfortable when someone you care abbout runs their hand over your skin, what would you pay, $500, $1000, $10,000? Personally if it cost me $10,000 dollars to have those things i described, i wouldn't hesitate to pay it. Maybe it's time to let the people that have the power to really fix this problem, really know how many people are affected...both physically and mentally. The price for improved self esteem and quality of life is priceless in my humble opinion. Just food for thought.
