Update on diet and KP

Hello! Just wanted to post an update regarding my 2 yr. old and the possible food allergy link with her KP. She has not had any wheat or dairy for a week now (per her allergy doc. recommendation). I have been researching and cooking like crazy finding alternatives for her. Also, I have increased her MSM from 500 to 1000 mg. per day. I have also begun using pure aloe vera gel (it is clear...sold at health food store) on her kp sites in the am, and then Vanicream (thick, very hypoallergenic cream, sold OTC)after bath at night. Her skin is MUCH smoother! Now, the ONLY clear sign that the "diet" has helped my daughter is that her nose,which required Zyrtec and nasal sprays to keep it from running 24/7/365, is that it's not running AT ALL...(I took her off all her nasal/sinus "allergy meds" the morning that I started the diet. Now...whether any of this "internal stuff" is helping her KP or not, I can't say. The smoothing may be just a result of the external skin care products that I am currently using. I am supposed to keep my daughter on this diet for another week before slowy adding back in the "suspected allergens" (one at a time) to see what is/isn't tolerated. Sorry for the long post, and I apologize if it is not applicable to some. I just thought it might be of interest to those who are still searching for possible connections. one side effect of msm is that it helps alleviate allergies, so that might have helped too.
