I posted awhile back about what my family and I use and how it has helped us. Since that time I have been getting laser treatments for my underarms,legs,and face. Well I'm on my fifth treatment for my legs and not only is it getting rid of the hair but also the KP. The only problem is that the hair on most of the rest of my body is light and the laser can't get rid of that unless I use meladine to darken the hair and it is very expensive. Not to mention the cost of laser.

My youngest son has severe KP and because he has quite dark skin he is starting to scar from it. The sulfur soap and caromol lotion keeps it to a minimum but it is hard for a 13 year old active boy to keep doing this day in and day out. I did skin care for a number of years and have been trying to use the knowledge gained from that to come up with something. There is a solution it just has to be found. At least if I need test subjects I will know where to go. Don't get too down about finding someone to have a relationship with. I have been married twice and dated a lot of guys before that and not once did they ever bring my KP up. As a matter of fact the few times I did mention it all I got was a dumb founded look and so what type of reaction. Lots of times no one notices our flaws till we point them out. Dear Bobbi, Thanks for all the support. I have it on the backs of my upper arms too. It is fairly severe-even my derm said he rarely sees a case so "pronounced." I have truly tried just about everything else I've seen posted on this board as a cure. I think that the laser hair removal sounds the most promising and innovative. Do you know if the actual doctors have recognized this as a treatment yet? As far as the money goes, I don't mind saving up, getting rid of this would truly change my life! You're lucky that no one ever brought it up against you Bobbi. Since I have severe Rubra KP on the face and that if follows the pattern of a beard I've been 'teased' with it most of my life. I felt like a freak in a circus or something for the most part of my life. This laser treatments seems to be a good thing. My dermatologist have offered me some sort of "yellow light' treatment which requires exposures to a special laser lamp, but it is said that it only make the KP disapear for a while. I was wondering if this laser treatment you're talking about is the same...if it would improve the condition on a permanent basis I would consider to have it done on my face...on the rest of my body I can conceal it most of the time so...
