Oh, I forgot something!

Hope this isn't a repeat, I just typed this, but I think I hit the wrong key to post!!
My daughter was tested for allergies by her ENT a while back. The test indicated that she is slightly allergic to peas and wheat. I didn't do much with this info because I didn't really think that it was the root of her KP, or other health concerns. However, a lady at the health food store was quite emphatic about skin disorders being directly related to food allergies/sensitivities.
She has suggested that I take her completely off of dairy and wheat because these items could be causing a "reaction" in the skin. What do you think?! Has anyone else tried this approach? Thanks again for reading/responding!!

I've cut dairy products out of my diet as much as i possibly can, this has been for about 2 months now and i hav'nt really seen much of a difference in my KP. I have it only on my arms a real little bit on the backs of my thighs...my arms are pretty severe but my thighs are hardly noticable. Somebody else a while back on the board said that they cut wheat and dairy out of their diet and saw fantastic results...when they resumed eating wheat & dairy their KP started to come back....so it does make sense! It's just so hard to not eat wheat haha.

I don't know if I really can make sense of it. In July I had my Tonsils out and to be honest I have never ever been a big fan of milk.I have not had any milk since July, it really bothers me to drink it due to the operation.I really don't have any dairy at all, maybe a bit of margirine here and there but thats it. My Kp has not improved.

Hi!

I have also tried cutting wheat from my diet, i don't know if it helped any though because i can't do it for very long before i give in and have some bread or something. I think that if i did cut it out of my diet for good i think that i would probably see a change for the better.

i think it's important to note that although wheat and dairy are common allergens for people who have kp, we're all different and it would be beneficial for us to find out what foods WE are sensitive to, before we panick and start cutting out food that we're ok with.

I read about kp being an allergic reaction on another forum. This girl had kp and she had allergies test done, and she found out she was allergic to wheat and dairy, so her doctor put her on a dairy- and wheat-free diet for 6 months, and she reported that her kp was gone. So i really think there's a definite connection between allergies and kp.
