KP, MSM, and the other stuff--lets organize this info
Originally posted by Sexmaster2000
Hi everyone, I had really great skin all my life, then in college when I was 18, over a period of months, BIGGIDY BAM! I started developing red bumps on my arms, back, and chest, and I was like so shocked! Now I never take off my shirt in front of people and I can't even go to the swimming pool. I have gone to dermatologists and have taken lac-hydrin cream and accutane with pathetic results (interestingly, the accutane worked wonders on whatever zits were on my face!). I want the straight answer from somebody--I have heard sulfur soap, glycerol, MSM, chemical peels, and laser surgery. Which one is effective? I am not looking for a cure, I just want the bumps and redness to shrink to the point that they're not very noticable. People who have had good results, please write back. I do not want "I have been taking MSM for a week and I'll update you later" responses. I want to know who has had success and what they did! Thank you and I would appreciate any answers to this posting. |

I have to agree w/ Kim about the sulfur soap. It really has helped my KP. I'm very bad when it comes to being consistent w/ something & I think if I used this daily my KP may disappear completely, but I tend to slack a bit. I've also just started taking the MSM & think it has helped the appearance slightly. Nothing major yet though, since I haven't been taking it for too long. I also didn't develop KP until my early 20's. I noticed it after taking Acutane. I wish you much success & keep us posted. |

Hi. I have been using the Glycolic Acid KP kit (from Dermstore) for a few months now--with great results. It includes a body wash and lotion. Within about 2 weeks of starting to use it morning and night--my bumps were mostly gone--I could maybe count 1 or 2! As long as I continue to use it EVERY morning and night, the bumps stay away. However, when I get lazy (which I sometimes do) and start using it just 1 time a day or maybe skip a day--the bumps come back quickly! So, in my case, I must use the wash and lotion 2 times a day. Unfortunately they don't do anything for the spots and scars. But I'm going to start taking some advice from others on here to start working on those. I'm just afraid of putting something on that brings the bumps back... good luck. |

SEXMASTER!!...is that so?? that's a great name. anyway, i must say i feel for you. i've had pretty bad KP since birth. this obviously isn't fun, but i can't imagine having really nice skin throughout your life then, all of a sudden, THIS arrives! i genuinely feel for you. as for your question, you might want to check out posts made by "vjcajun" & "me". they, along with some others, have had amazing successes with MSM. hopefully, we will all have the same success one day. happy hunting :-) |

I used Sulfur Soap and still do. It took away my bumps 100% within a 2 wk. period. The KP was all over my legs. I also used Oxy Vanishing Cream to lighted the dots. The Sulfur Soap is worth it. |
