Just do a simple search on Accutane and side effects and there are plenty of message boards where you will hear from hundreds of people who are still being effected by it. Go to Roche's (the manufacturer) and go look at the warnings and you will be shocked at how many side effects, some permanent, can occur; the warnings are several pages long. Definitely not worth it unless your acne is very severe.

You can't say that for everyone though. I have been on accutane and it has worked WONDERS for me...minus any of the side effects save for dry lips. Many people I know who were on it also did very well with it. It depends on the person, and the side effects are there, yes, but I believe that if you can take it safely, the benefits are BEYOND being well worth it.
And if you have good insurance, it shouldn't be that expensive either. Mine was only $18 for 60 pills, a month's supply.
And let me just say this: I was suicidal WITH the acne before treatment. While on accutane and with the perfectly clear skin afterwards, I was and am more happy than I could EVER imagine.
And now to worry about my kp... ~
