Hey all. I was trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed here lately. (My Dad had a stroke and I haven't been able to keep up to date with everything on the board.) I noticed some talk on self tanners and thought I'd put my 2 cents in. I read an article on it this summer (in Shape Magazine. They tested several brands to see which was the best for this that and the other...)It said that the "best all-around body" was Estee Lauder Sunless Super Tan Spray-$25.00. "Best all-around face" was Elizabeth Arden Daily Bronzer Self-Tanning Boost for the Face-$18.50. "Best for fair skin" was Clinique Self-Sun Body Quick Bronze Self-Tanner-$15.50. "Best Spray" was Clarins Oil Free Self-Tanning Instant Spray-$26.50. "Most Natural" Aveda Sun Source-$16.50. "Best for Beginners" Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer for Legs-$25.00. "Best Tinted Tanner" Neutrogena Instant Bronze Sunless Tanner & Bronzer in one-$10.00. After reading the article, I bought the last one I listed and was pleased with the natural look of it (I bought mine at CVS Pharmacy). Their tips on application was 1-Exfoliate, 2-Don't tan in a steamy room, 3-Use less (if you don't know how much to use, use a small amount to start till you get used to the way it applies; you can always apply more later to darken more, etc...), 4-Keep fingers tight-can wear latex gloves to apply (I did), 5-Moisturize after dry (to avoid dark spots like on knees, heels, elbows, etc...). I hope this info. helps for those who need to do the formal thing for Christmas parties, or vacation trips, etc... Good luck! *Sorry this was so long, but I also didn't know much about self-tanners either before reading the article this summer*
