Does anyone here have kp but without dry skin?

I have kp mostly on my legs, but the dermotologist I went to said that my legs were surprisingly not-dry, which is usually the case with kp. Does anyone here have this and what do you use? Does it mean that using lotions that are extra nurishing bad for me? I've been using soap for dry skin too. Am I doing this all wrong? I don't think I am, but I just wanted to double check and see if any of you can relate. |

I also do not have the typical dry skin that I hear that most KP sufferers have. But, since I started using the sulfur soap my skin has become dry, obviously because most soaps do dry your skin out. So, I have been using mainly Lubriderm Adavanced Therapy lotion after the soap because it contains urea which is good for the skin I heard. |

Hi Mia! I do not have dry skin at all. My skin has always been oily. The KP spread all over my legs after having my daughter. During my pregnency the oily skin went away and for the first time in my life my skin seemed normal and not one hair fell out of my head. Then I learned that your body holds onto everything for the baby and the baby takes so much from your body, I had really white teeth and they seemed to have yellowed a bit during that time. I think maybe that is why the KP got so bad due to my skin that changed for that 7 mos. (I was pregnant for almost 8 mos.) Who knows why our skin is not dry??? I'm clueless??? |

I don't have dry skin either...in fact...other parts of my body that is not effected by KP is really soft and not drying at all...I never even have to use lotion for those areas....sulfur soap really helps for me though...the bumps are like 80% gone after one week of using it....i also used dove nitrium body wash with it...but since i've run out of sulfur soap i've only been using the body wash...i think the body wash is only effective at eliminating the odor from the sulfur soap...because my bumps are back....but i should be recieving my new order of soap any day now...Anyways...for me...i think the most moisturizing soft still helps for my skin...like lubriderm or the victoria secret lotions...also for ur legs....Igia hair removing cream or spray leaves ur legs soo soft...u should try it...two summers ago before i found out about this website and all the treatments....i tried that and afterwards i dotn even feel the bumps any more..u have to leave it on for about 5 min though..before u wipe away and rub hard....plus i notice it leaves my legs so hydrated and u dont even need lotion afterwards....although they claim it lasts for weeks....for me it lasted about 3-4 days...which is a lot better then shaving...for that u have to do it daily....perphaps it's because the bumps are my legs arent too bad..but the redness is really bad....but if u use sulfur soap too...ur results will probably be even better.....anyways i hoped this helped |

Kim--Was VERY interested to hear your comments regarding your KP and pregnancy. I got KP on my legs in my 8th month of pregnancy and was told it would "probably go away" after I gave birth. Five months later I go to a Dermatologist who tells me that there was no relation and that I have KP and that there is nothing I can do about it. I had to go online and find this and other sites to learn how to treat myself! So much for my Dr.. Well, just wanted to agree with you that I am a firm beleiver that KP must somehow be hormonally linked and that pregnancy must somehow have brought on my case. Nice to find this site. Bye. |

Thanks! You did help a lot. I'll look into the hair removing spray. I've used Nair in the past, and it was really bad! |
