Update on MSM--please read before you buy...

I just wanted to let y'all know that the MSM I bought at Walmart in capsul form isn't as effective as the Opti-MSM powder I bought. Once I worked up to 1000mg/day, I switched to the capsuls and the bumps started coming back. I went back to the Opti and they disappeared again. I guess the moral of the story is that the brand does matter and if you have not had results with the MSM you are taking, try using the Opti powder instead ( I got mine at www.msm-msm.com for $11/pound--that's a lot of MSM!)Don't lose hope!

hi vjcajun, i am assuming you ordered your MSM from either msm.com or msm-msm.com? i noticed that there are two brands there: the Opti and the Lignisul brand. the site claims that both will provide the same results. was there a reason you picked one over the other? and the one you purchased at Wal-Mart - what was the name brand, and did it list any additives or is it pure MSM? i have been alternating between a Lignisul MSM from a Canadian company called Jamieson as well a 100% pure MSM product from a company called Organika (not Lignisul). i haven't seen any tremendous results yet but i thought it was because my dose was too low. i'm pretty sure what i've got is fairly high quality. i'm just wondering about the lignisul/non-lignisul issue here. any info you could give me would be great. thanks for all your posts on this board, they've been really helpful.

I know some have doubts about this stuff, but it really has performed miracles on my skin--and I'm about the biggest skeptic there is. My skin looks and feels like normal skin! The only evidence that I ever had KP is some faint scars from where I picked incessantly! But those are fading. No red bumps to see or feel, no new bumps, and softer, clearer skin all over. Seriously, Opti should pay me to advertise for them!

With shipping it was 17.00. I made two bottles of lotion, 18 bars of soap, some nasal drops, and I still have enough left over to take orally for a while. All of that for one pound of powder. It is cheaper if you buy more, so my neighbors (the husband has KP) are going to go in with me on 5lbs. Should last quite a while!
