Everyone with kp on their thighs or below the knee please come here

I wanted to know what everyone is doing for treatment and what has worked and what hasn't. I am on my third week of treatment right now and results are hard to see due to the cold, dry weather. Here is what I do: -I use epsom salt in the shower (I've only been doing this for week). I rub it and scrub it lightly over my kp. -After my shower I use sacylic acid cleanser (the liquid kind) -Then I put on the Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin treatment -Then I use LacHydrin 12% lotion that was prescribed to me -I repeat all of the above at night before I go to bed, except for the epsom salt. I want to get sulfur soap soon since I have heard such good things about it on here. I might also get MSM, but have heard mixed feelings about it. What have been the results with those of you with kp on your legs who have tried MSM? |

I can tell you this, I have used epsom salt for 2 mos. and I know it makes your skin feel great after scrubing w/ it but it did not do a thing for my KP. I had really great results scrubing w/ the Sulfur Soap. I had it bad all over my legs and nothing has ever taken away the bumps like the soap. I have been bump free for a while now and still use the soap daily. |

Yeah, I don't plan on using the epsom salt for too long. It's actually very tedious! Well actually everything I have to do to help my kp is! Anyway, I'm just using it until I get some sulfur soap...which will hopefully be sometime this week! Thanks for the little FYI though ![]() |

My daughter had kp on the tops of her legs and its gone now. She put epilpt on them and sweet almond oil, not at the same time, she alternates. Her kp spots on tops of her legs are no more, they've disappeared. She still puts oil on just in case though, if anything to keep her skin soft. hth, MolsMom |

The epsom salt my parents brought home for my dad for something else. I asked my mom where she got it and she said at Vons (a supermarket...just in case you don't know) near the pharmacy area. It's the brand "Safeway" and it came in a carton (like milk). So I'm assuming that you can find epsom salt in many places. The sacylic acid I use is just the Clean and Clear stuff. It's labeled as an astringent and can be found in the acne and face wash section of drug stores, etc. There's other brands to choose from too like Neutrogena. I've always used it on my face, and just recently started using it for my legs too. |

It took about 2 months, guesstimating, for the spots on the tops of her legs to completely disappear. She has no red spots or any sort of bumps left. She didn't have a lot of these on her legs to begin with, compared to her arms. |

Epilyt (proper spelling-which I do wrong constantly) is a lotion concentrate. You might be able to get a sample from your dermatologist or doctor if you are interested to try this out. Its under $15, over the counter at pharmacies/drug stores, and a little goes a long way. Ingredients are propylene glycol, glycerin, oleic acid, quaternium-26, lactic acid, and bht. Very runny consistency and a very light smell. |
