Possible Side Effects of MSM?

Hey...I was wondering when we know that we have reached the max dosage of MSM that our body can tolerate. I have read that people have been upping their dosages without any "side effects" yet but what are the possible side effects that they are talking about. I am taking 3000mg a day right now and this is my third day. I started off with 1000mg on the first day and then 2000mg yesterday. My face was red for the first two days and other than that I don't think I have any other side effects but what sort of *bad* side effects should I be looking for? thanks!

I started off with 2*1000mg. That night I had very disturbing dreams and woke up about 3-4 times during the night. I figured this was detox so the next 2 days I only took 1 pill (1000mg) a day. This is my 4th day and I'm having cold symptoms (stuffy nose) without the cold. I guess this is part of the detox. I'm going to go to 2 pills a day tomorrow and increase it by 1 each week.
