how can i bring this up with my boyfriend?
hey you all! ok, i have been dating my boyfriend for awhile now and he's the greatest thing to happen to me. but, the thing is, i'm too scared to tell him about my KP. i have it on my arms and on my legs and i'm so scared that if i tell him, he will think it's gross or think i'm weird or something and break up with me. i know that if he actually loves me, then he wouldn't care. but, i'm just too nervous. has anyone else been in this same situation? and if you have, how did you bring up your KP and was he supportive? i'm sorry for so many questions, but i really want to tell him. any advice would be great.. thanks so much! *kathleen* |

Don't say anything about it to him. If he asks about your KP then explain it to him. Tell him you have a skin condition that many people have and most are unaware that they even have it. Don't let this bother you, if he see's that it bothers you then he may be bothered also. If he cares for you he won't be bothered. No one person is perfect. I know that this is easier said then done but it's really no big huge deal.Hope this helps. |

You know what, so not worry too much about it. I worried a lot with my boyfriend too so I know how you feel, but chances are he might not even notice it or think about it. Since we who have KP are obsessed with skin we think all people are but most people are not. If you feel uncomfortable to take it up, wait until you feel more sure about your relationship and if he really cares about you he won't care. My boyfriend never really said anything about it and he just thinks I have rougher and dryer skin than others. The way we look are not what makes a relationship going and if thats all we got then we really don't have anything - looks will fade. Good luck and stay strong. |
