Mark, I am in the exact same boat as you. I just turned 21 and have had KP on my arms and red, bumpy cheeks for atleast 8-10 years now. No doctor has ever given me the same diagnosis or the same treatment plan. I have tried everything from products to several kinds of lasers. Here is what I have learned. No doctor cares about the condition as much as you do, so you have to do your own research and find what works for you. The lasers are not that effective and the reason why is because they treat the symptoms. They help temporarily because they fry the millions of tiny blood vessels in your face. But they will come back because you didn't attack the cause. Right now, eat healthy, take the MSM, and dedicate yourself to a good facial regimen. I like to use the Lab Series line of face cleaners, shave creams, and moisturizers. As far as the blushing goes, don't let it defeat you. I have avoided social situations in fear that I would start blushing, but understand it is a cycle. The more you think about the redness in a social situation, the more your adrenaline will start pumping and the more your blood pressure will rise. Just try to relax and play it cool. Focus on your breathing, take deep breaths. Also, don't stess out because stress hormones may worsen the condition. Right now I'm contemplating ETS (Endoscopic Thoracic Surgery). I will let you know if it looks promising. Keep your faith and you will keep your sanity. Jared |
