sulphur

Hey all,
After reading the info on sulphur and sulphur defeciency (don't know exactly who posted it all) I did some digging on sulphur supplements. I found MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane) at a vitamin/health food store. It comes in pill and powder form. I opted for the pill form. I got the 1000 mg. strength. I began taking 2 a day about a week ago and have seen DRAMATIC results! The actual keratin plugs have been reduced and the inflamation/redness has really improved. My KP has always been widespread and severe. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch...(think it's working, when maybe it's just in one of it's remission cycles) but I really think there is something to the sulphur. Also my face has cleared up a lot too! Skin seems softer and healthier over all. God, hope this is it! Will keep it up and keep you all informed.

To answer sheyla's question, yes there are still some visible dots. I have only been taking the pills for about a week though and the amount and severity of the dots has been reduced dramatically. My KP has actually always been more the dots than actual raised "bumps" My dots are more flat, but have always been very noticable because of the redness. Since taking these pills I have noticed that the redness (inflamation of the individual follicles) is what has gone away, thus greatly reducing the noticeability of my KP. I am defenitely not claiming that it is 100% gone, but it is the best I have ever seen it in about 15 years! And I have tried it ALL...carmol, retin a, accutane, tendskin, tanning, alphahydroxy acids, oxy, emu oil, vitamin a, co-Q10, flax oil, steam rooms, tub soaking, stiff brushes, pernox etc, etc...nothing has been as affective yet as the results I am seeing from taking sulphur internally. TO KP sufferer, no I am not now using any other lotion or anything else. Lotions have always ironically exaggerated my KP. No, there are no side affects to this pill. At least that I have read about during my research on it, or indicated on the bottle. I also don't believe that you have to be a certain age to take them. MSM is an organic source of sulphur, an antioxidant mineral and critical component of structural body tissues such as cartilage. The sulphur in MSM is incorporated into the skin as dermatan sulphate. Sulphur containing glycosaminoglycans are found in high concentrations in connective tissues, including joint cartilage, skin and collagen. Good luck! Seems to be working wonders for me!

question to ME-
when you did your sulfur research where did you do it?
i went to webMD to find out more info on MSM and this is what i came up with?

"Other biggest sellers in pet and feed stores are dimethyl sulfoxide, or DMSO, and methylsulfonylmethane, or MSM. Both are promoted on the Internet as remedies for arthritis and other ailments -- even though MSM has never been tested in humans and DMSO may cause vision problems."
NEVER TESTED ON HUMANS???? doesn't that scare anyone who's taking this supplement?

How old is the article you read on WebMD? This is what we read on msm.com http://msm.com/MSMFAQ.cfm Sounds like humans have used it, etc. If it is not tested on humans, then why do they sell it in the supplement aisle at CVS? The bottle I bought also has Glucosamine in it. I think it is perfectly safe. I would suggest reading more on it than the one article you read on WebMD.
