This is supposedly the secret to having a clear skin. It's supposed to completely clear your acne after 3 days: you go and buy some lemons or lemon juice at the store, mix some lemon juice with water, about 20 drops to be specific, and at the same time you dont eat for that day, all you do is keep drinking the juice all day long, this will break down mucous and cleans your system at the same time! about 8-10 glasses of that drink.
day 1-nothing to eat aka "fast" while lemon drink
day 2- eat as many fruits as you can all the fruit or vegetables you want
day 3- same as day one
after 3 days, ur acne-free. I wonder if this would work with kp as well.

Sorry guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but while this lemon water and fruit diet may help to rid your body of some toxins, it won't cure, clear up, or alleviate any skin problems. I do this at least once every 3 months where I drink lots of water, water w/lemon, and nothing but fresh fruits and veggies for 3 days to a full week. I pray while I'm fasting so I have the spiritual strength and physical strength to do it, but there is no miraculous clearing up of acne (very, very little on my cheeks and back), or KP. I do it for religious purposes, personally, but I'm sorry to say, I doubt there is even a grain of truth to it.

I have heard from this lemon-diet before, and I actually know someone who does this diet every spring to clean his body. He actually drinks this lemon water, together with some maple tree syrup, for 10 days long. And that's the only thing he eats or drinks all day long. Of course he makes sure that he doesn't have to do any hard labour those days, because not eating makes you feel less energetic. But he claims that this diet helps him cleaning his body after the winter, and giving him all the energy he needs to keep on moving for another year. He also says that the first days are the hardest, because your body is still trying to get rid of all the addictions of chocolate, fat food, etc. But while drinking lemon juice his body also gets rid of all the toxic elements, and this makes his skin feel softer and cleaner!! I have never tried it before, because I'm afraid of feeling no energy to work. Bye now

apparently the real cause of acne is mucous, and lemon juice kills mucous, and when u fast, ur body has nothing to break down but the accumulated toxins in ur body. (so fasting will cleanse ur body) A friend of mine knows this guy who had a moderate to severe case of acne, and after the 3rd day, his face completely cleared up. I've never tried it, cause i don't have a pimple problem, but i'm wondering if this would work for kp. I wanna give it a try, but i don't know if i can fast for one whole day!

Purpose of Fasting

The longer we live in a chemically driven, artificial society, the more chemicals and toxins our bodies begin to store in what was once healthy tissue. When the body is constantly at work digesting incoming food, it never has the time to rid itself of the affected tissue. When we stop the intake of solid food, normal digestion is slowed and our bodies begin to consume their own diseased tissue. The first cells to be digested during a fast are the ones that are diseased, damaged, aged, or dead. Therefore, we can use fasts either to maintain our health (prophylactic or disease preventing fasting that curtails the build up of toxins) or, in some cases, to repair our health (therapeutic fasting that rids the body of stored toxins making us sick).

don't you guys think we can all benefit from a fast?

Hi, Sheyla! The type of fast depends on what I'm praying about. Sometimes I drink water w/no lemon and pray and meditate for a full week. Sometimes, I fast from all food, but will continue to drink pure fruit juices, filtered water, and fasting tea w/honey and lemon. Then other times, I fast from all food and drink during daylight hours, but eat veggies, fruits, and other low-fat meatless dishes. My fasts last anywhere from 1 day, to as long as 7 days.

I hope that answered your question. Let me know!

Joy
