MSM - Methylsufonylmethane. Also known as biological sulfur. A 100% pure licensed product with many uses. It's main use is as an oral anti-inflammatory, it's used in much the same way as shark cartilage. It's also taken as a supplement for a wide variety of things. Topically it can be added to creams, lotions and salves, dissolved into the water phase. It should be incorporated at low temperatures as heat can destroy it's properties. It's been said to be a cure all product, from fading scar tissue and aiding in inflammation to increasing cell permeability and helping with aging skin and a wide variety of skin ailments. Typically used up to 40%+ in a gel, 10% in a cream.

If this was used in soapmaking, the lye phase would kill off any properties I would imagine-though not sure because it doesn't list a temp to go by?- the lye generates a very high heat.

I found this when I did a search for this: N-Acetyl Cysteine
<a href="http://www.eantiaging.com/Library/html/g_162.html">http://www.eantiaging.com/Library/html/g_162.html</a>

This stuff is suppose to be good for a lot of reasons, and no side effects.

I am going to try this stuff. Cheapest place I found was this:
<a href="http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/browse/sku_listing.jhtml?DeptID=">http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/browse/sku_listing.jhtml?DeptID=</a>&amp;OrigDeptID=10&amp;Letter=S&amp;BrandID=15&a mp;BrandName=Source+Naturals%2C+Inc.&amp;ProdID=10 0863&amp;ProdName=N-Acetyl+Cysteine&amp;BreadCrumbType=Brand&amp;Bread CrumbType_Product=NoCategory&amp;CatName=N-Acetyl+Cysteine

I am thinking of just going with the 1000mg ones, and just taking 2 per day.

What have I got to lose? This suppliment seems to be pretty cool anyway
